How Was Your Experience...

...this past weekend with Pastor Felix Williams and the rest of the folks from Mt. Calvary leading our weekend services?

How do you feel about being a part of a church that is willing to raise the topic of and begin to engage in racial reconciliation?

I rather enjoyed this past weekends service. I am very excited that churches (black and white) are beginning to think in terms of the Kingdom of God here on Earth and coming together to serve Christ. What an amazing thing to witness and be a part of.

It was pretty cool. I really got into it.
Talking about the issues that others ignore is a testament to the care that the xroads community and leadership have. To me, not shying away from an opportunity to tackle "lump-in-your-throat" issues is similar to Christ asking Peter if he loved him. That is, He exposes that diseased part in our hearts to us so we know what needs to be let go. "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12. The down side is the limelight effect/shock-church impression.

It is the capital C Church at it's finest when we are in NAME Christ's Church. NO other name. . . I am thrilled to see us working together as THE Church to reach out to all people who need Jesus. The community will not just take notice, they will not just see congregations working together. They will see JESUS. That is exciting.
