Come On In...
We like to think of our weekend messages as conversations- with a couple of limitations: 1. We've only got 20-30 minutes together. 2. One person does most of the talking while 1000 people listen.

To a degree...
Sure, just as Ms Holly alluded to the starfish example Missy gave a while ago, I do agree that trying to encourage one person at a time to Christ makes sense. You can build deep relationships with a few people and influence them. That's the most powerful way to have an effect.(?) I don't agree with the latter part of the quotation. Big dreams, though many go unrealized, keep a big picture focus in our microcosmic views. I guess that's the point of the pic? A lone, female eye looking at the whole continent of Africa, the Middle East, some of Europe and Russia. I do agree that waiting to change the world in only big ways is a waste.

I don't know what Bukowski means but if that means I agree, then ditto. God will give you certian opportunities to minister or witness for him and passing those smaller ones to wait for the bigger ones is crazy. The hard part sometimes is recognizing the opportunities that are presented to you. I know that I don't see them until after the fact some days. I will keep trying though. Hopefully all the little things will make one big thing in the end.

But I have always liked the "one day at a time" approach, so I guess "one man at a time" works, too! How do you eat an elephant, right? Where I come from it was said "you eat that sucker one chaw at a time".
It is why I entered education 20 years ago. I believe . . . one student. . . one life . . .one person . . .can make a difference . . . can change the world. I love the story in the Bible that shows us how one may plant, one may water but it is God who causes the growth. He/the Spirit will move within and causes the change, the growth.
We each have a role we play in others' lives. I truly believe God is using us and our witness in multiple ways at varying times in others lives.
