How Did You Celebrate?

What did your Easter festivities look like this weekend? We caught the Saturday night service, had an egg hunt and a Sunday family dinner complete with bunny cake. All while welcoming a new family member- our four day old son.

What did you do this past weekend?

Also, do you still get an Easter basket? All time favorite Easter candies?

Spent most of Saturday at church preparing for the weekend services. After the Saturday service go sushi with Sara, then went back to her familie's houe to put a roast in a crock pot for the next day.

After the services on Sunday had the roast for lunch with Sara and her family then took a loooong nap.

And my favorite Easter candy is the Reeces Eggs - the ones that are basically just Reeces cups shape like eggs. I don't know why they taste so much better than a regular Reeces cup, but they do.

After church on Saturday night, my 3 year old son waited at the window for the Easter Bunny to come driving up to our house. After I told him that the Bunny didn't drive the White Expedition that passed by our house, he went to bed.

Sunday, we had an Easter Egg hunt inside, had dinner, and then Keaton (my 3 year old) told me the Easter story. It's amazing to see and hear my child translate the Easter story. It makes the story even more real to me.

Old Favorite Candy- Peeps
New Favorite Candy- The Reeces Eggs

Usually candy must = chocolate for me, so I have little interest in jelly beans, gummy bears, skittles, etc.

However, when it comes to Easter I make an exception and welcome all varieties of the candy family.

After church on Sunday I headed to my family's house in Indiana. My niece and her two sons came as well. The funniest or neatest moment perhaps came when he asked my mom if we were going to church (traditional family event) after supper. She said no they had cancelled it because of Easter. He is SIX and had the most puzzled look on his face. He replied, "That's ok. We can just have church here. Who wants to preach?" We did, in fact, end up having CHURCH! He preached. But, before he could start he had to have an "opening song" and take prayer requests!!!!!!!! My mother spoke up immediately with two! When Morgan got ready to preach he looked around and said, "PEOPLE! Where are your Bibles??"

I'll spare you the rest of the details. Easter service at Crossroads was WONDERFUL and the day concluded in a most memorable Easter service as well!
